USING ODEM
Terms of Service
Effective September 26, 2026
These terms govern your use of Odem: odem.ai, Odem accounts, and the Odem desktop engineering workspace and AI agent. By creating an account, signing in, or using Odem, you agree to them.
1. Your account
You must be at least 13 years old, or the higher minimum age where you live, and able to form a binding agreement. Keep your sign-in details secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
2. Access, beta and billing
Odem may offer beta, trial, free and paid access. Beta features can change or be withdrawn. Paid plans renew until cancelled and are billed through Stripe; you can manage or cancel billing from your account. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
3. Your work and the AI agent
You keep all rights to your projects, designs, code and prompts. The agent works through the AI provider account you connect (currently OpenAI), under that provider’s terms. You give Odem only the permissions needed to run the features you use, including processing run diagnostics as described below.
Designs, schematics, boards, firmware, CAD models and other agent output can be wrong, incomplete or unsafe. Automated checks are not a substitute for engineering review, physical testing, certification or a manufacturer’s requirements. You are responsible for reviewing and validating anything you build, manufacture or rely on.
4. Run diagnostics
To find and fix failures, the desktop app sends Odem a short diagnostic record for each agent run while you are signed in: your prompt, the outcome, and each tool step’s name, file name, duration and any error message. It does not include file contents, renders or tool outputs. Records of successful runs are deleted after 1 day and all others after 10 days. You can turn this off at any time with the Share Run Diagnostics setting in Odem. When you report a problem, you choose whether to attach the run it concerns; we then keep that run’s record for 10 days after the report. We try to respond to reports within a day. Our Privacy Policy explains how this information is handled.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use Odem to break the law, infringe others’ rights, design weapons or devices intended to cause harm, attack or overload our services, bypass access controls, or resell access without our permission. Only submit content you have the right to use.
6. Third-party software and services
Odem bundles and connects to third-party software, libraries, component models and services, including KiCad, text-to-cad, PlatformIO, OpenAI and Stripe. They are provided under their own licenses and terms. Odem is based on open-source software whose licenses continue to apply.
7. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Odem and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or to protect Odem or others. Files on your computer remain yours.
8. Disclaimers and liability
Odem is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, Odem is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data or manufacturing costs. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid Odem in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Odem changes. We will post the new version here and update its effective date, and give additional notice of material changes where required. Continuing to use Odem after changes take effect means you accept them.
